For Arabic-speaking learners who want to strengthen reading, writing, understanding and expression, with foundational literacy support when needed.

Who is this program for?

This program is designed primarily for Arabic-speaking learners who want to strengthen their Arabic from an appropriate starting point.

Learners building literacy foundations

Arabic-speaking learners who need structured support with sounds, letters, early reading, spelling and writing.

Learners developing wider Arabic skills

Arabic-speaking learners working on reading comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, sentence development, writing and expression.

Learning directions

These directions belong to one Arabic Language Program. They are not separate courses or fixed tracks, and the most suitable emphasis depends on the learner's current skills and goals.

Arabic Foundations and Literacy

Develop essential Arabic sound, letter, reading and writing skills through carefully guided practice. Depending on readiness, learners can work from sound recognition toward letter forms, vowel patterns, early reading, spelling and writing.

Developing Arabic Skills

Strengthen reading comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, spelling, sentence development, writing and expression. The balance between these areas reflects the learner's starting point and learning goals.

What learners practise

Depending on their starting point, learners can practise:

  • listening carefully to Arabic sounds and language
  • reading with increasing accuracy and understanding
  • building vocabulary and using it in meaningful contexts
  • improving spelling, sentence construction and writing
  • applying grammar through clear examples and suitable practice
  • responding to feedback and working more independently over time

Learning develops at different rates. This page does not promise a fixed outcome, level or completion timeframe.

Finding a suitable starting point

The learner's current reading, writing, understanding and language use can be reviewed before the learning focus is agreed.

An ordinary inquiry does not require a public placement test, and this page does not activate an online Arabic assessment.
